What are your key responsibilities?
As a General Manager I'm the ultimate host for our guests. I'm also a manager and motivator of people
and encourage everyone in my team to develop ideas to enhance our guests' experience and the teams'
working environment.
Describe the culture at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts?
We're given the freedom to achieve results. The company has a set of Core Standards that you can build on
to ensure your guests, whether business or leisure have a great stay. We work in different locations across
the UK but that hasn't stopped a supportive team culture amongst my peers and when people do well we celebrate
success!
What skills do you need to be a General Manager?
It's a given that you need to enjoy working with people and have great communication skills, but you also
need patience and a willingness to accept that mistakes will be made. You need to be passionate and never
accept second best.
