What are your key responsibilities?
A key element of my role is mentoring General Managers in all aspects of the performance of their hotels from
a people, product and profit point of view. I'm also responsible for ensuring that the company vision and
values are at the heart of everything we do and acting as an ambassador for our company.
Which skills do you use most?
People skills to get the best from my team and to ensure they enjoy their work. The ability to keep calm and
juggle priorities is key. It's a highly demanding role so balancing this with a sense of humour helps!
What do you enjoy about working at Macdonald Hotels?
In each role I've had, I've been given the freedom to show my individuality and I enjoy working for a company
that's associated with quality and wants to be a market leader in our industry.
What advice would you give someone who aspires to your position?
Soak up all the knowledge you gain from each role as there's no better education. Don't be afraid to challenge
and take risks for the sake of the business and most importantly, value your people as you will not succeed
without them.
